About the Role

Chart's core business is centered around the design and fabrication of cryogenic equipment. Customers come to Chart with a challenge, and this role is involved from conceptual design through to installation and commissioning of equipment on-site. Chart provides full solutions across the Nexus of Clean™ – clean power, clean water, clean food, and clean industrials, including hydrogen solutions, carbon capture, water treatment systems, space launch equipment, marine decarbonization, mining electrification, and food and beverage technology.

What You Will Do

  • Attend, participate in, and conduct pre-shift and weekly safety meetings.
  • Comply with all AXC policies and procedures including Attendance, Code of Conduct, PPE/Dress Code, and Teamwork.
  • Predictably and regularly attend work and be punctual.
  • Follow direction or instruction.
  • Clock in and out of Time and Attendance, jobs, etc.
  • Differentiate between drill bits, reamers, spot facers, ring groovers, taps, etc.
  • Read blueprints, micrometers, scale, calipers, square, protractor, verniers, etc.
  • Manage and flip all sizes of headers.
  • Work from drawings and job layout specifications to position and secure work, check tooling and align head, set drill feed rate and speed rate, etc.
  • Analyze prints or instructions for discrepancies.
  • Roll and close jobs or complete operations in Syteline.
  • Cross-train and assist in other areas/departments as needed.
  • Troubleshoot machine and operation problems.
  • Read, analyze, understand, and demonstrate knowledge of Chart Quality Systems including travelers, work instructions, and In-Process Inspection Check Lists.
  • Conduct yourself in a considerate, professional, cooperative, and helpful manner toward fellow employees, customers, vendors, and visitors.
  • Follow all safety policies and company-wide safety requirements; encourage action assuring safe behavior; confront unsafe behavior and conditions proactively and positively.
  • Read, write, and speak English fluently.

Equipment Used

  • Crane, hoists, etc.
  • Radial Drill
  • Micrometers, scale, calipers, square protractor, verniers and various electric, air or hand tools, etc.

Physical Work Environment

  • Lifting or carrying up to 50 lbs
  • Frequent sitting, standing, stooping, bending, twisting, walking and occasional crawling
  • Frequent pushing, pulling and handling of material
  • Occasional climbing and working at elevated positions
  • Repetitive hand movements during operations
  • This position is classified as safety sensitive due to the use of heavy machinery, power tools, and exposure to potentially hazardous conditions. Employees must be able to perform duties in a manner that ensures their own safety and the safety of others in the workplace.

Experience

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • 6 months prior manufacturing experience
  • Ability to differentiate between drill bits, reamers, spot facers, ring groovers, taps, etc.
  • Ability to read blueprints, micrometers, scale, calipers, square, protractor, verniers, etc.
