Operator I-Machine

About the Role

Under the supervision of the Production Supervisor, the Machine Operator I may perform any of the following jobs.

Responsibilities

• Comply with Westlake Safety Policies and Procedures.
• Maintain regular attendance, timeliness, and scheduling flexibility.
• Water Treatment: Treat process water by adding flocculent to disperse solids. Check pH before discharging to the city. Follow SOP. Maintain a daily log of all discharges to the city with a supervisor’s approval.
• Sorter: Inspect tile on the dry side and manage the sealer area, including cleaning the sealer booth.
• Strapping Machine: Operate the strapping machine to secure pallets of tile.
• Kiln Exit Operator: Perform quality checks of tile and package the tile.
• Clean equipment and work areas daily.
• Notify supervisor or lead person of any identified problems.
• Perform all other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements

• Basic mathematical skills (e.g., ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide).
• Able to read, comprehend, and follow simple instructions.
• 6 months to 1 year of color or tile manufacturing experience required.
• 6 months of forklift driving experience desired.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to complete repetitive movements such as typing.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to efficiently multitask.
• Capability to lift, move, or transport items up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to move or traverse about the facilities.

Pay

$21.02 per hour. Compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US markets and may vary based on job-related knowledge, experience, and skillset.
