OPERATOR I - INDUSTRIAL SHIPPING

About the role

The Shipping Operator is responsible for handling and preparing completed product for shipment. This role is crucial as it ensures each shipment is accurately verified and safely loaded for transport.

Responsibilities

• Load, unload, and safely align products for shipment.
• Operate forklifts, hoists, and other equipment safely.
• Verify shipment accuracy by reviewing PO’s, Bill of Ladings, and all shipping documents.
• Inspect products for quality and correct quantities.
• Work with other departments to coordinate shipping schedules and deadlines.
• Maintain housekeeping in the shipping yard and general area.
• Follow all safety, quality, and company policies.
• Partner with other departments to improve processes and ensure product accuracy.

Requirements

• A high school diploma or GED.
• Experience in a shipping or heavy machinery environment is preferred.
• Ability to read shipping documentation, measurements, and attention to detail.
• Strong safety awareness for oneself and others.
• Ability to safely operate forklifts and/or heavy equipment (certification is a plus).
• Ability to juggle multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Distribution, fabrication, manufacturing, and/or construction experience is a plus.
• Physical ability to lift to 50 lbs and lift, push, and pull up to 100 lbs with proper equipment.

This position is an on-site role within our plant located in Leeds, Alabama. It is not remote or hybrid.
