Operator I, Equipment (35068)

Requirements

MUST BE 18 YEARS OLD TO APPLY AND NOT CURRENTLY ENROLLED IN HIGH SCHOOL.

Schedule

This role will require extended hours based on production needs, including work to be performed after regular business hours and on weekends.

Responsibilities

• Perform all work in a safe manner; remain constantly aware of continuous improvement opportunities for safety.
• Set up and run the portable snack machine according to the daily production schedule while complying with all quality standards and specifications.
• Ensure the line is stocked with proper materials and products.
• Inspect packages for proper seal, dating, film alignment, and product quality.
• Efficiently load top film when it is running low or when switching to packaging of a different product.
• Change parts correctly according to the production schedule.
• Control waste of packaging materials and products.
• Operate the machine to maintain proper seals, proper weights, proper vacuum, and accurate, legible coding of packages.
• Keep accurate daily paperwork and communicate any downtime over 15 minutes to the supervisor and maintenance.
• Ensure proper assembly of Multipond scales and Mondini sealer.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Follow GMP/HAACP procedures.

Skills

• Knowledge of packaging machines, scales, and mechanical aptitude.
• Intermediate level communication skills.
• Ability to delegate responsibilities.
• Ability to troubleshoot and quickly adapt to unexpected events.
• Ability to neatly and accurately complete paperwork.
• Flexibility to changeover on short notice (may do multiple changeovers in a day).
• Ability to operate an electric pallet jack.
• Ability to safely use a ladder.
