OPERATOR I

Essential Duties

• Operate heavy equipment, including but not limited to, water truck, haul truck, sweeper, 950 and 980 series front-end loaders.
• Operate/maintain a limestone crushing and screening processing plant.
• Balance plant production with customer orders and product inventory levels.
• Packaging limestone products into bulk bags and 50-pound bags.
• Loading and weighing customer trucks.
• Operating locomotives manually/remotely.
• Loading rail cars for manifest and unit trains.
• Performing routine operational and maintenance checks on equipment.
• Maintaining a clean and well-organized workplace.
• Completing required written reports.
• Performing other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• A high school diploma or equivalent (GED or HSED).
• A valid driver’s license.

Physical and Environmental Demands

• Frequent sitting, standing, walking, bending, climbing, pivoting, reaching, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Occasional kneeling, crawling, turning valves, and pushing/pulling up to 150 pounds.
• Frequent operation of equipment such as a high-pressure steam washer, conveyor systems, stackers, crushers, and use of miscellaneous hand tools.
• Frequent performance of manual labor tasks including shoveling, sweeping, picking rocks, bagging dust products, cleaning dust, greasing, and oil.
• Frequent exposure to finger dexterity, good hearing, and color vision.
• Frequent working in areas of dirt/dust and occasionally around chemicals, fumes, extreme heat/cold, vibration, confined areas, and at heights up to 100 feet.
• Frequent working in noisy, poorly ventilated, and around electrical and rotating equipment.
• Frequent use of safety equipment including a hardhat, safety-toed work boots, safety glasses, hearing protection, and fall protection.

Key Skills

• Working knowledge of and experience operating mobile mining and mineral processing, or equivalent, equipment is preferred.
• Good mathematical, basic computer, and written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to follow equipment operating practices and procedures.
• Ability to communicate and work under pressure to meet deadlines.

Pay

$26.39 per hour.
