Starting pay: $20.10/hr. upon successful completion of training and skills validation.

About the Role

The primary responsibility of this position is to support the production operator with general housekeeping, driving forklift to move WIP product, making additive batches, bin dryer coordination, shoveling potatoes at the drums, quality checks, and ingredient flow rate checks. They may also assist the operator with production functions including changing shredder knives, toting flakes, and dumping seasonings and/or ingredients.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate the movement of product, materials, etc.
  • Dump, pack, and stack products.
  • Operate the production line and basic equipment under the operator’s direction.
  • Work in areas such as flake drums, production line, raw receiving, fluming, sorters/bins, receiving, and/or dumping/packing/stacking.
  • Use the company’s inventory management system and operate a forklift.
  • Adhere to Idahoan Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and all safety regulations.
  • Follow plant safety rules, including the use of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Maintain cleanliness in work area(s), including sanitation of machines, floors, and equipment.
  • Inspect product to ensure high quality and maintain inventory accuracy.
  • Assist the operator in clearing equipment jams and starting/stopping the line.
  • Alert the Operator of any upset conditions or problems.
  • Disassemble and reassemble equipment for cleaning.
  • Participate in cross-training and train others as needed.
  • Complete special projects/assignments as directed by the operator or management.
  • Assist with any department position to cover breaks, etc.
  • Adhere to the company’s attendance policy.

Requirements

  • Previous experience working around processing equipment preferred.
  • Company-provided training for forklift operation and lockout/tagout policies.
  • Clear communication with the operator to ensure product accuracy.
  • Self-confidence and maturity to make decisions and solve problems with minimal direction.
  • Commitment to personal safety and the safety of others.

Work Environment

  • Lifting up to 50 lbs. throughout the shift.
  • Standing on concrete, walking, and using stairs consistently.
  • Consistent movement of hands, arms, and shoulders.
  • Ability to work under pressure with time limitations.
  • Exposure to cleaning chemicals and sanitizers.
  • Work in warm/dry, hot/cold areas with loud noises and/or dust.

Position Validation

Our Position Validation Program focuses on three core areas: On the Job Training, Standard Operating Procedures, and Validation of Performance. New team members must validate proficiency in assigned tasks within the first 90 days, including:

  • Additive Tanks/Mixer
  • Fluming
  • Piece Sorter
  • Rework Line
  • Bins
  • Cablevey
  • REAL lines area

Upon successful validation, the pay rate increases from the training rate to the full pay rate (+ $.75). Team members who do not validate within 10 weeks may transition to an open position they qualify for or exit the company.

Pay

$20.10/hr. upon successful completion of training and skills validation.
