Responsibilities

  • Aid in setting up and adjusting packaging machines.
  • Load WIP materials and packaging materials into machines.
  • Maintain close supervision of machine operation to identify and rectify issues like jams or malfunctions.
  • Support minor machine repairs or adjustments as directed.
  • Pack packaged product into cases and/or stack cases onto pallets.
  • Serve as backup to Machine Operator during breaks.
  • Replenish packaging materials and supplies as needed.
  • Utilize inventory management system to maintain accurate material tracking and safe consumption.
  • Inspect packaged products to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Handle opening and reworking of packages that fail quality checks.
  • Ensure work areas are clean and organized to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Assist Machine Operator in completing and documenting line changeovers.
  • Follow established safety and food safety/quality protocols, including reporting incidents and participating in root cause analyses.
  • Actively identify and report potential safety and food safety risks to the Supervisor.
  • Complete all required training before the specified deadline.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Recent and consistent job history in manufacturing, especially in environments involving repetitive tasks, physical labor, and machinery.
  • Previous experience in food manufacturing is preferred.
  • Preferred technical skills include forklift certification, SQF training, and LOTO training.
  • Ability to read, understand, and communicate effectively in English or Spanish.
  • Proven decision-making and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical, quantitative, communication, and technical skills.
  • Proficiency in using D365 (Microsoft) and Redzone (Apple) software.
  • The ability to work rotating shifts, including weekends.
  • Physical capabilities to lift up to 50 lbs., stand for extended periods, use stairs, and perform repetitive motions.
  • Must be able to operate a powered industrial vehicle.
