Responsibilities
- Aid in setting up and adjusting packaging machines.
- Load WIP materials and packaging materials into machines.
- Maintain close supervision of machine operation to identify and rectify issues like jams or malfunctions.
- Support minor machine repairs or adjustments as directed.
- Pack packaged product into cases and/or stack cases onto pallets.
- Serve as backup to Machine Operator during breaks.
- Replenish packaging materials and supplies as needed.
- Utilize inventory management system to maintain accurate material tracking and safe consumption.
- Inspect packaged products to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Handle opening and reworking of packages that fail quality checks.
- Ensure work areas are clean and organized to maintain a safe working environment.
- Assist Machine Operator in completing and documenting line changeovers.
- Follow established safety and food safety/quality protocols, including reporting incidents and participating in root cause analyses.
- Actively identify and report potential safety and food safety risks to the Supervisor.
- Complete all required training before the specified deadline.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Recent and consistent job history in manufacturing, especially in environments involving repetitive tasks, physical labor, and machinery.
- Previous experience in food manufacturing is preferred.
- Preferred technical skills include forklift certification, SQF training, and LOTO training.
- Ability to read, understand, and communicate effectively in English or Spanish.
- Proven decision-making and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong analytical, quantitative, communication, and technical skills.
- Proficiency in using D365 (Microsoft) and Redzone (Apple) software.
- The ability to work rotating shifts, including weekends.
- Physical capabilities to lift up to 50 lbs., stand for extended periods, use stairs, and perform repetitive motions.
- Must be able to operate a powered industrial vehicle.
