Operator, Forklift

About the role

The forklift operator will assist in the efficient operation and management of the warehouse, including receiving, preparing, and delivering products, materials, and supplies to the appropriate departments or locations. The role also involves keeping accurate records and tracking inventory.

Responsibilities

• Stock area supermarkets with shop supplies and direct material
• Assist in maintaining accurate inventory in the warehouse
• Support 5S initiatives for the team’s area
• Contribute to safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives
• Receive and respond to calls for items needed to support production
• Deliver materials within the plant to support production
• Ensure all material movement in the warehouse follows first-in, first-out (FIFO) principles
• Stock glass at the Eastman as necessary
• Change out resin totes as needed
• Empty trash dumpsters as required
• Deliver acetone and change out waste drums, ensuring all drums are properly marked and stored
• Safely operate power equipment

Requirements

• Warehouse or material handling experience required
• Ability to interpret and accurately process paperwork
• Experience maintaining accurate inventory
• Proficiency in safely operating equipment such as forklifts and scrubbers
• Ability to adapt to adjusted, changed, or improved work instructions
• Ability to follow directions from Team Lead and Supervisor
• Basic computer skills
