Operator, Forklift - 2nd Shift

The Forklift Operator reports to the Warehouse Supervisor and is based out of our Seabrook, New Jersey location.

About the role

This individual will be responsible for loading and unloading finished goods, raw materials, and ingredients from trailers with the use of a forklift, utilizing our inventory control system (QAD/RF scanning) to capture all movement.

Pay

Starting hourly rate: $21.67/hr. 2nd shift differential: +$0.35/hr. 3rd shift differential: +$0.45/hr.

Responsibilities

• Partner with the Warehouse Supervisor to load and unload finished goods.
• Load trucks using the Bill of Lading (BOL) and FIFO method; complete the load.
• Tag and properly store finished products from production lines in a safe, efficient, and orderly fashion.
• Communicate all shortages to the Warehouse Supervisor.
• Use RF scanners to capture all movements and QAD for tag edits.
• Ensure product rotation by shipping the oldest product first; use pick sheets to assist in rotation and report any discrepancies.
• Maintain product quality through proper rotation, correct tagging, and preventing damage in the warehouse. Handle damaged products under the clean-as-you-go program.

Requirements

• One (1) year of forklift experience in a manufacturing environment.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions

This position requires sufficient physical ability to work in a production setting.

• Frequent: Talking, hearing, standing, walking, climbing stairs, stooping, bending, crouching, pushing/pulling, lifting up to 50 pounds, operating machinery/equipment and manual/electronic tools. Exposure to wet/humid conditions and seasonal temperature fluctuations.
• Occasional: Squatting, kneeling, reaching above/at shoulder height, wearing a dust mask, performing confined entry using LOTO program. Exposure to toxic and corrosive chemicals.
• Vision: Close, distance, color, and peripheral vision (with or without correction). Ability to visually detect obstacles and potential dangers in a fast-paced production environment with high-speed equipment and powered industrial lift equipment.
• Hearing: Normal audio range (with or without correction). Exposure to noise from pumps, machinery, forklift traffic, bottle lines, and exhaust fans.
