Resinall Corp, an Ergon company, is seeking an Operator E for our Hattiesburg, Mississippi location. This role reports to the Area Supervisor and operates on rotating 12-hour shifts (7:00am-7:00pm and 7:00pm-7:00am).

About the Role

The Operator E packages flaked resin into up to fifty-five (55) pound bags and super-sacks from a hopper using a mechanical bag loading device. Filled bags are removed from the loading machine and stacked onto a pallet. The role includes maintaining a clean work area, operating auxiliary equipment, and assisting with additional tasks as directed.

Responsibilities

  • Fill bags (up to 55 lb.) and super-sacks with flaked resin from a collection hopper using a mechanical loading device.
  • Ensure packaged resin meets required weight limits.
  • Maintain orderliness and cleanliness of the work area, including equipment and floors.
  • Operate auxiliary equipment such as conveyors, dust collectors, ventilation equipment, and forklift trucks.
  • Process rework as generated.
  • Assist Operator D and other operators with packaging liquid products or charging materials into reactors.
  • Enter and clean out reactors and blend kettles as required.
  • Promote safety, good housekeeping, and cleanliness throughout the facility.
  • Develop good working relationships with co-workers, departments, and supervisors.
  • Provide coverage for vacation, sick leave, or other operational needs.
  • Follow operating procedures in all applicable areas.
  • Complete all Safety and Environmental training and perform duties as assigned.
  • Work 24 hours per month in the coverage area.
  • Perform other assignments as directed by Operator E, Operator Lead, or Area Supervisor.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Successful completion of training requirements for Operator E.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work well in a team.
  • Strong computer skills; experience with SAP and Windows 365 preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills to ensure all duties are completed thoroughly.
  • Knowledge of raw materials, packaging, and shipments recommended.
  • Forklift certification and current driver’s license.
  • Knowledge of DOT shipment requirements (e.g., BOL, Hazardous shipments).

Skills

  • Reading/Writing: Ability to read and write for understanding instructions, hazard warnings, and recording job-related information.
  • Limits/Tolerances: Ability to calibrate, operate, and read a scale to ensure proper weight limits for packaged resin.
  • Motor Coordination: Ability to move hands and fingers skillfully for tasks such as placing, holding, and turning objects.
  • Agility: Ability to act quickly in emergencies, including exiting the area without assistance.
  • Standing: Ability to stand for 100% of a 12-hour shift, with breaks every 2.5 hours or longer.
  • Walking: Ability to walk continuously during a 12-hour shift, including climbing steps and ladders, with a maximum distance of 500 yards at a time.
  • Carrying: Ability to lift and carry up to 55-pound (25 kg) bags.
  • Pushing/Pulling: Ability to push or pull hand trucks with weight forces of approximately 25–40 pounds, including on ramps and flat surfaces.
  • Stooping: Ability to bend from the waist and use proper lifting techniques for objects like 55-pound resin bags.
  • Speech: Ability to communicate verbally with other employees.
  • Vision: Near and midrange vision with depth perception to safely perform tasks and recognize hazard warnings; eye protection required at all times.
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Ability to wear respirators, chemical-resistant gloves, work gloves, and hard hats as required.
  • Hand Tasks: Ability to grasp objects with both hands to move them safely.
  • Hearing: Adequate hearing for receiving verbal instructions and emergency hazard warnings.
  • Lifting Demands: Ability to lift 55-pound (25 kg) bags continuously over a 12-hour shift, including lifting from the floor to pallets over six feet high.
  • Confined Space Entry: Ability to enter confined spaces (e.g., tanks, kettles) for cleaning, repair, or maintenance.
  • Mental Requirements: High tolerance for repetitive, continuous work with minimal variation or independent judgment.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Work in temperature extremes ranging from below 32°F to 110°F.
  • Exposure to noisy environments; hearing protection required when necessary.
  • Exposure to moving objects, sharp tools, and continuous processes.
  • Dusty environment requiring respiratory and eye protection; limited ventilation.
  • Use of mechanized flaking and bagging equipment, conveyors, dust collectors, ventilation equipment, and forklift trucks.

Schedule

Rotating 12-hour shifts: 7:00am–7:00pm and 7:00pm–7:00am.
