Operator-DMC -Mozzarella Make Department

About the role

Lactalis American Group, part of the Lactalis family of companies, is hiring a DMC Operator II based in Nampa, ID. The successful candidate will safely operate the draining mat conveyor (DMC), monitor the pH, filtration system, and whey through the dicing process. This position is responsible for the overall quality and must perform quality inspections throughout the cheese-making process.

Responsibilities

• Safe operation of the draining mat conveyor.
• Start up, shut down, clean in place, and troubleshoot equipment when appropriate.
• Monitor pH and perform quality sampling.
• Operate HMI and maintain all records/documents per policy.
• Take immediate corrective action for any product that does not meet quality or product specifications.
• Contribute to continual process improvement and increased performance.
• Participate in internal/external audits and maintain ISO22000/ISO9001/HACCP compliance.
• Attend department meetings and trainings as assigned by supervisor or manager.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous experience working in manufacturing or food industry preferred.
• Previous experience as a Machine operator.

Skills

• Ability to read and comprehend written instructions.
• Ability to identify variables within the manufacturing process and make necessary adjustments.
• Basic Math Skills (must be able to calculate averages).

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout a manufacturing facility for extended periods.
• Ability to lift up to 55 lbs unassisted, repeatedly.
• Ability to climb stairs and ladders as required by the process.
• Ability to work in warm processing areas, cool rooms, and around operating equipment.
• Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
