About the role

At this level, the Coil Operator is proficient in all essential duties and performs them with general supervision. The role involves safe execution of operations at the service location, including rigging up the truck and crane, assisting with shop and field operations, operating and maintaining assigned equipment, and keeping operational records.

Responsibilities

  • Performs shipping, loading, and unloading duties while complying with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations and additional transportation routing and scheduling requirements.
  • Verifies and documents identity and quantity of all equipment.
  • Supports crew members with on- and off-location operations as directed.
  • Spots equipment as directed by the Supervisor.
  • Performs operations at customer well locations, including exposure to inclement weather and confined spaces.
  • Operates heavy machinery if properly certified.
  • Completes job-related paperwork, driver’s logs, and vehicle inspection reports.
  • Installs and disassembles equipment according to manufacturer standards, verifying applicable certifications.
  • Assembles, secures, and disconnects equipment.
  • Operates, maintains, and troubleshoots equipment, including diagnostics and minor repairs as needed.
  • Monitors, evaluates, and adjusts processes or equipment to maximize quality and efficiency.
  • Performs tasks in accordance with safety guidelines and industry standards.

Requirements

  • Valid Class A driver’s license with "X" endorsement.
  • Acceptable driving history.
  • 2–4 years of relevant work experience.
  • Ability to work in physically demanding conditions, including:
    • Precise hand/eye coordination (constantly).
    • Basic keyboarding or repetitive motions (frequently).
    • Operation of heavy equipment or vehicles (frequently).
    • Lifting/pushing objects over 50 lbs (frequently).
    • Climbing and working in awkward or cramped positions (frequently).
    • Walking and standing on concrete and uneven surfaces.
    • Exposure to inclement weather, bright lights, loud noise, dust, gas, and/or fumes.

Preferred Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Forklift Operator certification.
  • Crane Operator certification.
  • Quality & HSE certifications.
  • Relevant oilfield product line experience.
