About the role

The Operator position at CF Industries is responsible for executing various operational tasks such as loading and unloading products, maintaining facilities, and responding to emergencies. This role requires flexibility in shift work, including evenings and weekends, and operates in a continuous, challenging environment.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out product loading and unloading functions according to established procedures.
  • Maintain equipment, buildings, and grounds in compliance with operating procedures.
  • Understand and apply principles of refrigeration systems, including testing and recording sample results.
  • Maintain and update relevant manuals and records accurately.
  • Comply with all training, environmental, health, and safety programs.
  • Aid in the training and development of other operators.
  • Assist with emergency response discussions and training.
  • Respond to hazardous material spills as required.
  • Participate in capital and maintenance project development and implementation.
  • Assume management responsibilities when necessary.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Equivalent of 2 years college, military/technical training, or related work experience.
  • Ability to understand and follow operating procedures.
  • Refrigeration knowledge commensurate with position level.
  • Good communication skills.
  • HAZMAT certification (post-employment requirement).
  • Basic computer skills and capability for data entry and information retrieval.

Pay

Schedule

Shift work is required, with 12-hour rotating shifts (6am to 6pm; 6pm to 6am).

Emergency Response Personnel Requirements

  • Hazardous Material Technician: Wear Level A protective suits and self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) to perform offensive measures to patch, plug, or stop leaks of anhydrous ammonia.
  • Incident Commander: Typically functions in Level D protective gear (normal work clothes) and assists Hazardous Material Technicians into their protective gear.
