Responsibilities

• Ensure proper safe operation of a forklift/clamplift
• Efficiently and safely transport unfinished and/or finished product or material to specific locations for manufacturing, storage, loading, or unloading
• Communicate with department supervisor, operators, and production personnel regarding supply and product transportation needs
• Maintain a neat, orderly, and safe work environment
• Operate a forklift in confined areas with other forklifts and employees present
• Obtain Carpenter Company Forklift Certification
• Perform other duties as assigned by management

Requirements

• Must be able to read and understand labeling processes and read/write English
• Recharge forklift batteries and propane tanks as instructed
• Understand and follow Carpenter Company's safe stacking policy and recognize prohibited and restricted areas
• Operate a forklift in reverse to haul product to a final destination safely and efficiently
• Must be able to obtain Carpenter Company Forklift Certification
• Maintain a neat, orderly, and safe work environment

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Skills

• Strong communication skills
• Customer service orientation
• Safe operation of forklifts
