About The Role
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
- Reads job work instructions to determine machine, packaging and material requirements.
- Sets up the equipment, following all operational and safety procedures.
- Turns valves or moves controls to activate and maintain system at specified temperatures and machine rates.
- Observes machine operation and monitors mixing, pelletizing, drying, coating, transporting and packaging processes and makes recommended specified operating adjustments.
- Adds specified amounts of materials into kettles, mixers and blenders.
- Able to lift and empty 55 lb bags of chemicals repeatedly throughout an eight hour shift.
- Labels and prints on packaging supplies.
- Draws samples of products for laboratory analysis and performs in-line quality testing of product.
- Accurately completes batch sheets, lot sheets and shift process sheets in a timely and legible manner.
- Keeps work areas neat and orderly.
- Operates forklift.
- Performs minor machine maintenance including changing and cleaning various parts.
- Accurately fills plastic bags using a vibratory bag filler with chemicals following written manufacturing procedures.
- Adjusts feeders to dispense correct amount of chemicals following manufacturing procedures.
- Lifts and stacks bags that weigh up to 55 lbs on to pallets.
- Sets up scales with go/no-go lights per work instructions.
Qualifications
To successfully perform this job, an individual must be able to perform each key responsibility in a satisfactory manner through individual effort or effective and appropriate collaboration. Additionally, the well-qualified candidate will have the following education and experience:
- A High School Diploma, 2-3 years experience as an operator in a manufacturing environment or demonstrated practical knowledge.
