Operator Associate I

About the role

The Thermoforming Operator position at Novolex's Manchester Road location is currently hiring immediately. This role involves operating production equipment, ensuring customer requirements are met, and maintaining a safe and clean work environment.

Responsibilities

• Operates production equipment according to process instructions, shop floor control, and product specification sheets to produce quality products.
• Maintains a safe and clean work environment.
• Works closely with other team members to foster a cooperative and friendly atmosphere.
• Interprets SPC data and makes necessary adjustments within process control limits.
• Identifies and troubleshoots needed repairs of machinery and follows up with maintenance procedures.
• Generates breakdown work orders and documents related downtimes.
• Assists in the training of supporting IP’s and other personnel.
• Communicates effectively and works productively as part of a cross-functional team.
• Performs quality checks and identifies differences between major and minor defects.
• Controls inventory throughout the entire process.
• Operates and adjusts machines within process limitations.
• Ensures compliance with ISO standards and maintains clean, safe work areas.
• Performs root cause analysis and implements corrective actions.
• Operates motorized equipment and other peripheral equipment safely and efficiently.
• Trains new employees and ensures they follow established procedures.
• Operates thermoforming and/or blending equipment and peripherals.
• Controls conveyor systems and arranges materials/items in specified sequences.
• Lifts and carries products weighing up to 75 lbs.
• Provides feedback on equipment operation and needed repairs to maintenance.
• Accurately posts data from one source to another in ERP or peripheral software systems.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Three to five years of previous mechanical and/or technical experience in a related manufacturing setting.
• Basic computer skills.
• Good mechanical aptitude.
• Adequate ability to solve problems and establish cause and effect relationships.
• Acceptable score acquired on the Fabri-Kal Corporation mechanical aptitude test.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Basic computer knowledge.

Pay

$22.16/hr starting pay with a $1/hr shift differential paid weekly.
