About the Role

The primary responsibility of this position is to ensure only quality-approved products are packaged for the customer. This includes loading plastic charges, inspecting compression molded product, stacking shingles, labeling, and skidding finished product. The goal is to help keep the extrusion lines or molding machines running continuously and efficiently while producing a product that meets or exceeds customer expectations.

Responsibilities

  • Comply with Safety Policies and Procedures.
  • Receive and load plastic charges (400°F) into compression molds.
  • Keep up with 4-5 compression molds, each cycle averages 22 seconds.
  • Maintain less than 5% shorts (loading charges correctly).
  • Read Production Schedule boards and perform work as assigned by shift supervisor.
  • Inspect, feed, and/or pack product for Work In Process (WIP) or finished product.
  • Detect quality defects in molded parts, trim the molded part, and assemble the molded part.
  • Ensure that product has appropriate Lot Information printed on each product.
  • Attach appropriate labels to bundles.
  • Notify supervisor of any safety, quality, mechanical, or material issues.
  • Complete production documentation.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Shift Supervisor.
  • Notify Management/Supervisor of any quality or equipment issues.
  • Regular attendance, timeliness, and scheduling flexibility.

Requirements

  • Work eight to twelve-hour shifts.
  • Perform tasks as defined in Standard Work Instructions.
  • Perform basic math functions.
  • Distinguish colors visually.
  • Basic literacy skills required to clearly and legibly complete required paperwork.
  • Teamwork orientation.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; training or certification in relevant skill or trade preferred.
  • 1 - 2 years' experience in a relevant field.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to work standing for up to 8-12 hours per shift.
  • Must be able to kneel, squat, bend/twist at the waist, and stack parts at or above head height.
  • Must have full range of motion (ROM) of shoulders, knees, hips, elbows, wrists, and hands to inspect, pack, and stack finished parts.
  • Must be able to complete repetitive tasks to keep up with cycle times as fast as every 30 seconds.
  • Must be able to wear compliant ear protection when working in areas exposed to noise levels above OSHA threshold limits.
  • Must be able to work in hot environments (especially summer months) that can exceed 100°F.
  • Wear all required personal protective equipment (safety toe shoes, ANSI Z87 eye protection, CR gloves).
  • Lift, move, or transport items up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to move or traverse about the facilities.
  • Must be able to ascend/descend stairs or ladders.
  • Ability to work around dust, chemicals, and other substances, and in various environmental conditions.
