Schedule
This role operates on a 12-hour shift (5:30 AM - 6:00 PM) under the plant's 2-2-3 rotation / "B" shift schedule. The schedule alternates working and off-weekends in a repeating two-week pattern:
- Week 1: Work Monday–Tuesday, off Wednesday–Thursday, work Friday–Saturday–Sunday
- Week 2: Off Monday–Tuesday, work Wednesday–Thursday, off Friday–Saturday–Sunday
Responsibilities
- Set up and clean all equipment, including oven depositors, pumps, contherms, box machines, packaging machines, and other machinery prior to the scheduled start time to ensure on-time start-ups.
- Perform quality checks on products being produced, record information in RedZone, and make necessary system adjustments to meet customer and company specifications.
- Monitor spiral freezer operations, check for ice buildup on belts and coils, and take corrective action to maximize quality and production run length.
- Perform sanitation duties to restore the system to operational status within a set time period.
- Troubleshoot equipment that is not running effectively.
- Adhere to safe work practices, follow GMPs, maintain sanitary conditions, and ensure product quality. Report any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety, food quality, or personnel safety to management.
- Adhere to all safety policies and procedures.
- Responsible for the food safety and quality of MFI products.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required:
- Prior work-related experience and/or training.
- Intermediate level of computer/technological skills.
- Ability to train for forklift certification.
Preferred:
- High School Diploma or general education degree (GED).
- 6 months or more of experience in machine operation.
- Prior forklift experience.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to write simple correspondence.
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees.
- Basic math skills: ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
- Ability to carry out instructions furnished in oral form.
- Ability to deal with problems involving one concrete variable in standardized situations.
