Responsibilities

• Set up, operate and adjust production equipment by use of appropriate tools and procedures.
• Keep machine operating according to operating procedures and in good condition.
• Communicate machine malfunctions with Team Lead, Supervisor, or Maintenance.
• Understand production requirements and production schedule with guidance from Team Lead or Supervisor.
• Perform to machine goals.
• Cross train on various job functions within the production facility.
• Work in a Team environment.
• Direct, assist, and train helpers to perform necessary functions.
• Perform other duties, as assigned.

Safety

• Work safely and follow all safety rules and operational procedures.
• Perform Lockout Procedure as required by mill specific Lockout JSA.
• Wear and maintain all appropriate PPE as required.
• Understand all safety devices and their operation.
• Notify management if safety devices are malfunctioning or missing prior to machine operation.

Quality

• Perform quality checks, including routine checks for part dimension using appropriate tools.
• Appropriately maintain all quality paperwork in a legible manner.

Maintenance

• Perform routine maintenance and notify maintenance personnel concerning any machine issues that might slow down production, cause a safety concern or lead to further maintenance problems.
• Assist maintenance personnel as directed.

Housekeeping

• Maintain a clean, organized work station.

Other Duties

• Train in multiple production areas within the facility.
• Perform all necessary paperwork.

Requirements

• Mechanically inclined.
• Ability to problem solve.
• Prior manufacturing experience preferred.

Physical Requirements

• Lifting: Up to 50 lbs.
• Standing: 8 or more hours per day.
• Walking: Off and on, 4-6 hours per day.
• Body Positions: Squatting, bending, flexing and extending both arms.
• Grasping: Both hands, up to 8 hours per day.
• Sitting: None.
• Pushing Effort: Carts of finished product and tools, up to 75 lbs.
• Pulling: Tools and finished product, up to 50 lbs.
• Mathematical Skills: Basic mathematical skills, addition, subtraction.
