About the role
The Assembly/Operator Associate is responsible for assembling reusable and recyclable packaging interiors (dunnage) using a variety of hand tools and equipment. This role supports production goals by ensuring all products meet safety, quality, and delivery standards.
Responsibilities
- Assemble parts according to print drawings and work instructions.
- Insert completed assemblies into plastic containers.
- Perform self and peer quality inspections throughout the assembly process.
- Immediately report safety concerns or quality issues to the Cell Lead, Set-Up Technician, or Supervisor.
- Rotate between different work cells and machines as needed during the shift.
- Verify correct parts and materials against work orders prior to assembly.
- Calculate cycle time (takt time) to support production requirements.
- Safely and effectively use basic hand tools, including: Rivet gun, Handheld sonic welder, Hot air welder, Glue gun and glue line, Manual hot wire bender.
- Develop operational knowledge of additional equipment, including: Baler, Drill press, Band saw.
- Successfully complete required training, including: Print Drawing Training, Tape Measure Training, 17–21 Day Training Program, 17–21 Day Training Program.
- Accurately complete all required paperwork related to assigned tasks.
- Follow all safety procedures and use required personal protective equipment (PPE) in accordance with Standardized Work (STW) documentation.
- Actively participate in Continuous Improvement (CI), 5S, and STW initiatives.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Ability to read print drawings and use a tape measure accurately.
- Willingness to work in a manufacturing/production environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality.
- Minimum of 6 months of experience in assembly manufacturing and/or as a machine operator.
- Shift Hours: Sunday Through Thursday, 10:30p-7:00a.
