About the Role
This associate has the technical expertise to set-up and operate the appropriate equipment for their skill. This associate makes relevant technical decisions and requires discriminating judgement and is responsible for 100% inspection of the finished product before moving to the next stage in the process.
Required Skills
- Must possess a level of literacy that demonstrates correct and consistent oral and written skills.
- Ability and willingness to receive training from Machine Operator II’s thru VI’s while adhering to all safety and environmental requirements.
- Ability and willingness to participate in continuous improvement teams within a specific work cell.
- Ability to use air and electric hand tools such as grinders, drills, files, or any special application tools developed for specific tasks.
- Ability to measure parts to 1/32” using tape measure, calipers, and shop measurement devices.
- Ability to read and interpret dimensions and surfaces from design drawings.
- Ability to work and function as a unified work team under minimal supervision.
- Ability to perform all required preventative maintenance.
- To do all housekeeping such as clean floors, crib tools, organize a specific work area, and 5S procedures.
- Communicate quality problems with other associates.
- Comply with all Knoll safety standards.
Required Experience
- A high school diploma or equivalent (GED), or work experience which demonstrates performance competency.
- Experience in metal fabrication environment operating machinery.
