Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor alarms and respond to customer calls promptly
  • Open and manage trouble tickets, coordinating with field teams
  • Analyze, isolate, and resolve network failures
  • Guide restoration activities and bridge calls to support teams
  • Afford documentation and closure for all tickets
  • Configure and test port assignments from connection requests
  • Afford assistance with migration work during maintenance windows
  • Troubleshoot central office connectivity across Ethernet and legacy protocols
  • Coordinate with EMS, OSS, and inventory systems for issue resolution

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3+ years experience in an IP NOC environment
  • Hands-on experience with Cisco and Juniper platforms
  • Lay 1–3 troubleshooting skills; Lay 4 preferred
  • Telecom experience in an IP NOC or managed network
  • Self-starter with sense of urgency and initiative
  • Ability to research and resolve complex network problems
  • Experience with VLAN, VRF, and routing protocols
  • Knowledge of OSPF, BGP, and Layer 2 switching
