Key Responsibilities
- Monitor alarms and respond to customer calls promptly
- Open and manage trouble tickets, coordinating with field teams
- Analyze, isolate, and resolve network failures
- Guide restoration activities and bridge calls to support teams
- Afford documentation and closure for all tickets
- Configure and test port assignments from connection requests
- Afford assistance with migration work during maintenance windows
- Troubleshoot central office connectivity across Ethernet and legacy protocols
- Coordinate with EMS, OSS, and inventory systems for issue resolution
Qualifications
- Minimum 3+ years experience in an IP NOC environment
- Hands-on experience with Cisco and Juniper platforms
- Lay 1–3 troubleshooting skills; Lay 4 preferred
- Telecom experience in an IP NOC or managed network
- Self-starter with sense of urgency and initiative
- Ability to research and resolve complex network problems
- Experience with VLAN, VRF, and routing protocols
- Knowledge of OSPF, BGP, and Layer 2 switching
