Operations Technician I/II

About the role

As Operations Technician II, you'll perform a variety of tasks, including reading and interpreting drawings, supporting pipeline operations, safely maintaining facility equipment and analyzing data to resolve technical and operational problems. Knowledge of permits and compliance, accurate record-keeping and a focus on safety are keys to success in this role!

Responsibilities

• Safely maintains equipment and supports pipeline operations, including reading/interpreting drawings, inspecting/supervising equipment and maintaining operation/technical standards and/or governmental requirements
• Analyzes data and collaborates with others to find solutions to technical or operational problems
• Follows all Company policies and applies appropriate operating and maintenance procedures
• Acquires knowledge of and adheres to requirements for safe and efficient operation of facilities, execution of tasks, protection of community, personnel, environment, and assets
• Maintains general knowledge of site/location/equipment and permitting
• Completes assigned reports, logs and maintains accurate records of process operations and performance of preventative maintenance on equipment
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Operations Technician II

• High School Diploma/GED and minimum two (2) years' related experience
• Minimum of one (1) year experience as a technician in the oil and gas industry
• Associates or two-year technical degree (preferred)

Operations Technician I

• High School Diploma/GED (required)
• Associates or two-year technical degree (preferred)
• Minimum six (6) months mechanical, technical, or controls systems experience in the oil and gas industry or operations technician summer internship with Associates Degree (preferred)

Physical and work requirements

• Work in extreme temperatures, with loud noises and in enclosed spaces
• Carry or lift items up to 50 lbs and team lift loads of more than 50 lbs as needed
• Stand, walk, climb, bend, stoop, and squat, often for long periods of time
• Work at elevated levels, potentially from man lifts, ladders, scaffolding, and/or small towers, with appropriate PPE
• Use hand tools
• Available to work after hours, on-call rotations, nights, weekend shifts and holidays as the need arises
• May be required to work overtime, and travel between Williams locations with occasional overnight stays
• Must be located within a 30-minute drive of the station

Requirements

• Must possess valid State Driver's License and clean driving record
• Demonstrates aptitude and ability to embrace technology and applications to drive operational efficiency and streamline processes
• Demonstrates excellent organizational/interpersonal skills and safety as the utmost priority
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Application and PC skills, Process Control Systems and Programmable Logic Controllers
• Works under periodic supervision, but only for highly complex and non-routine tasks. Performs varied tasks and projects of moderate to occasionally high complexity requiring the application of standard techniques, procedures and criteria. Routine technical and operations assignments completed independently.
• Has developed technical skills or operational capabilities through technical training or equivalent work experience
• Makes independent decisions on routine tasks
• Works within established procedures with moderate supervision, occasionally coordinates the activities of others
• Analyzes data and confers with others to determine the appropriate solutions to technical or operational problems
• Makes straightforward decisions while working independently based on clearly defined procedures communicated by the supervisor or team lead
