Essential Functions & Responsibilities

  • Completes field work at a customer site in Whiting, Indiana to meet the goals of the onsite operation of centrifuge equipment.
  • Supports Operators in achieving environmental compliance, waste minimization, and continuous operations by monitoring, inspecting, and maintaining equipment and associated processes.
  • Prioritizes health and safety by adhering to policies, processes, and maintaining safe practices at all times.
  • Assists the Operations team to monitor centrifuge systems for sludge dewatering.
  • Assists the Operations team with maintenance activities, including cleaning, lubrication, and minor repairs.
  • Conducts routine inspections of centrifuge equipment, pumps, polymer systems, and associated piping and hoses.
  • Completes daily operations and inspection reports; maintains accurate logs, reports and operational data in accordance with facility procedures.
  • Captures and analyzes samples (sludge, centrate, & oil effluent) to ensure compliance with regulatory and internal standards.
  • Collaborates with maintenance team for planned and unplanned shutdowns or repairs.
  • Ensures proper handling and storage of chemicals (e.g., polymers, coagulants).
  • Fulfills all refinery safety procedures, including lockout/tagout (LOTO), confined space entry, and hazard communication.
  • Prepares necessary supplies, tools, monitors and other equipment for daily operations.
  • Supports the team in labor tasks such as installing liners in roll-off boxes and operating pumps, heaters, forklifts, filters, scrubber systems, and sampling.
  • Maintains pumps and piping systems, tank levels, centrifuge operations, loading and unloading operations, and roll-off boxes.
  • Operates small hand tools and equipment; makes repairs to equipment as needed.
  • Takes on additional duties as assigned to support the team and organization.
