Operations Supervisor
Responsibilities
- Cook up and oversee employee work assignments to meet inbound and outbound service requirements.
- Drive achievement of performance objectives related to productivity, quality, service, and safety.
- Keep a close eye on workflow, work completed, error rates, and take corrective action.
- Ensure procedures are followed, implemented, and enforced.
- Make sure quality and inspection processes are accurate and excess costs are minimized.
- Maintain a safe working environment and follow safety regulations.
- Keep accurate time, attendance, and performance management records.
- Promote positive employee relations and morale.
- Propose performance management actions.
- Develop and implement training certification programs and ensure warehouse employees receive training.
Qualifications
- A High School Degree or Equivalent is required.
- Fork Lift Certification is preferred.
- Three years of warehouse and distribution operations experience is required.
- One year of experience leading warehouse associates is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of inventory control processes is essential.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills are necessary.
- Basic computer skills are required.
- An attention to detail is important.
- The ability to learn and use business planning systems is beneficial.
- The ability to resolve problems in a timely manner under stressful situations is crucial.
- The ability to anticipate and prepare for customer needs is vital.
Physical Expectations
- Work is physically strenuous and requires lifting heavy packages up to 50 pounds.
- May involve excessive bending or stooping.
- Requires climbing ladders.
- Uses hand tools.
- Uses heavy machinery (e.g., forklift, etc.).
Compensation
$58,775 - $76,407 Annually
This amount is what we reasonably believe we will pay for the position; however, offer amounts may vary based on factors such as geographic location, relevant education, experience, qualifications, skills, shift, or any collective bargaining agreements. For eligible positions, compensation may include participation in a bonus or sales incentive plan, subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable plan documents. For certain sales roles, Wesco also offers a commission structure that provides additional compensation based on sales results, as defined by the applicable commission plan.
