About the Role

We are seeking Operations Staff responsible for participating in set-up and clean-up activities for events and general maintenance at Tony's Pizza Events Center. This is a part-time position with an hourly rate of $14.00.

About The Venue

The TONY'S® Pizza Events Center, located in Salina, Kansas, features a newly renovated 6,500+ seat multipurpose arena and the Great Plains Manufacturing Convention Hall, an 18,000 square foot convention space. Known as Mid-America's Meeting Place, the venue provides central Kansas with a hub for meetings, entertainment, and events.

Responsibilities

• Perform general labor, repairs, and maintenance on various aspects of the arena as assigned.
• Handle general housekeeping duties.
• Build connections for various events.
• Set up and break down chairs, tables, event seating, stages, basketball courts, football fields, etc.
• Actively care for all arena equipment and property by storing equipment properly, cleaning and repairing damaged items, and alerting management of any mistreatment.
• Maintain organized storage areas.
• Perform lawn maintenance such as mowing, pulling weeds, and trimming trees.
• Conduct snow removal tasks including shoveling sidewalks, parking areas, entryways, and loading docks.
• Additional duties as assigned by the operations manager or director of operations.

Requirements

• Previous experience with event operations and changeovers is a plus.
• Ability to work flexible shifts based on events and building needs, including days, nights, weekends, and some holidays.
• Ability to follow basic and detailed instructions.
• Capability to perform general labor, including frequent heavy lifting.
• Strong communication skills.
• Possession of, or ability to obtain, a forklift certification (training provided).
• Ability to take direction.
