Operations Scheduling Specialist

About the role

BAE Systems is seeking an experienced Operations Department Scheduler to join the Surface Combat Systems Center (SCSC) facility on Wallops Island, Virginia. SCSC provides live combat system suites with platform‑specific radars and sensors and supports combat system lifetime support engineering, platform certification, operational and technical evaluation, combat system training, interoperability testing, and participation in at‑sea exercises. The center maintains a high‑fidelity representative combat system for every ship in the AEGIS and Ship Self Defense System (SSDS) fleet.

Responsibilities

• Review customer requests for test time.
• De‑conflict equipment assets requested by multiple customers for the same time period.
• Participate in scheduling meetings and contact mission points of contact to negotiate conflicting requests.
• Respond to and execute Operations Officer and Scheduling Officer guidelines and directives.
• Develop mission schedule projections for SCSC and plan and conduct Mission Readiness Reviews (MRR).

Requirements

• Minimum education: High School/GED.
• At least 5 years of experience in military asset de‑confliction and scheduling.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience with TRMS or a similar scheduling database.
• Ability to obtain a Secret‑level security clearance; U.S. citizenship required.
• If not currently holding an active Secret clearance, a contingent offer will be made pending interim clearance.
• Preferred: Active DoD security clearance.
• Preferred: Experience in an RDT&E environment.
• Preferred: Experience on AEGIS ships or land‑based test sites.
• Preferred: Experience with Microsoft Project.

Pay

Full‑time salary range: $51,273 – $87,164. Compensation is determined by factors such as business considerations, local market conditions, internal equity, and candidate qualifications.
