Operations Quality Engineer II
About the role
The role involves factory metrics analysis, defect prevention, process enhancement, and advanced product quality planning. It also includes supplier issue identification and containment.
Responsibilities
- Baseline factory metrics (Scrap, Rework, FPY, etc.), identify top drivers, forecast future demand for top drivers and identify areas of opportunity for improvement.
- Engage MFG Defect Prevention teams to ensure alignment on top priorities (using baseline data and future forecast) to drive containment, Root Cause Analysis and associated Corrective Action Implementation.
- Perform process walks, operator observations, and lead MFG team discussions to drive process enhancements to reduce variation.
- Lead/Drive Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) initiatives (PFMEA, control Plans, SPC, etc.) using baseline metrics and future demand.
- Identify supplier escapes/issues and ensure proper containment and backflow to the Supplier Quality Management team.
- Perform verification and validation of improvements to understand effectiveness.
Requirements
- Requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) or other technical field of study, and a minimum of two (2) years related engineering experience.
- Manufacturing process experience in one of the following processes (assembly, inspection, test).
- Previous experience working in cross functional process improvement teams.
- Experience in identifying root cause and initiating/implementing effective short-term and long-term corrective actions.
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated knowledge of key process characteristics and ability to implement effective process control techniques.
- Experience with industry technical standards, interpreting drawings, work instructions, Bill of Materials (BOMs), consumable materials control, process disciplines and tool control.
- Strong familiarity with ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 quality management systems.
- Six Sigma, ASQ Certifications.
- Proficient in the use of pareto analysis, cause/effect diagrams, process mapping.
- Able to facilitate cross-functional teams in systematic improvement activities (e.g. Six-sigma, lean manufacturing).

Pay
The salary range for this role is 68,900 USD - 131,100 USD.
Schedule
This role is classified as Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.
Security Clearance
This position requires a security clearance. DCSA Consolidated Adjudication Services (DCSA CAS), an agency of the Department of Defense, handles and adjudicates the security clearance process.
