General Description (Major Areas Of Responsibility Of This Position)
A person in this position is primarily responsible to provide technical assistance and guidance to customers during the presales process. They will focus on research, preparation and lead generation, retain current customers, improve current customer relationships, obtain referrals from current customers, and grow sales volume and profitability with current customers.
Job-Specific Responsibilities
- Coincides daily with supervisor to achieve targeted sales objectives
- Builds and maintains relationships with customers within assigned area
- Recommends products to customers, based on customer needs and interest
- Answers customers' questions about products, prices, availability, product uses, and credit terms
- Travels throughout territory to provide technical assistance and guidance as needed
- Generates new sales leads and closes sales opportunities
- Manages accounts
- Works with customers to bring collection accounts current
- Pitches in with delivery drives to sell and deliver products
- Determines, resolves, and communicates presales issues to management
- Delivers batteries when necessary
- Maintains a high level of product knowledge
- Provides excellent customer service to customers
- Performs other duties as assigned
