Major Areas of Focus

The Operations Manager (OPM) is responsible for directing operations, managing teams, and ensuring efficient service delivery. Reporting to the Director of Operations, the OPM oversees various aspects including fleet management, purchasing, client relations, and quality assurance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Keeps master scheduling tools updated and provides operational schedules to account executives and production managers.
  • Manages fleet needs against production requirements and communicates these needs to the Director of Operations.
  • Manages designated Fleet Supervisor and all repair and maintenance needs of assigned fleet.
  • Manages fleet inventory systems and designated 5s Leader.
  • Manages all Field Supervisors and Production Managers.
  • Creates incident reports and compiles information per policy for accidents or close calls.
  • Drives ECF Egress and Egress standards.
  • Manages job budget of hours and materials, ensuring it meets the set budget.
  • Approves expense reports and payroll for subordinates.
  • Manages purchasing goods, services, and materials within the job budget, with approval from the superior manager.
  • Supports Account Executives and Project Managers with estimating processes and proposal development.
  • Manages post-sale quality control and establishes and maintains quality and warranty programs.
  • Ensures assigned fleet, personnel uniforms, grooming, facility cleanliness, and job sites meet professional image standards.
  • Conducts and administers appropriate disciplinary protocols and conducts training on professional standards and safety.

Financial

  • Purchases goods, services, and materials within the job budget, with approval from the superior manager.
  • Manages job budget of hours and materials, ensuring it meets the set budget.
  • Approves expense reports and payroll for subordinates.
  • Approves purchasing requisitions for subordinates.

Client Management

  • Coordinates with project clients and the designated Account Executive to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Participates in customer service-related activities at the direction of the Director of Operations or corporate office staff.

Human Resources

  • Recruits and develops team members.
  • Follows company policies and ensures team members obey safety, quality, and excellence rules and guidelines.
  • Maintains adequate staffing to meet production needs.
  • Takes the lead in administering disciplinary protocols applicable to subordinates.
  • Manages uniforms and assigned company purchased tools and equipment for subordinates.

Sales & Quality Assurance

  • Supports Account Executives and Project Managers with estimating processes and proposal development.
  • Manages post-sale quality control and establishes and maintains quality and warranty programs.

Image Control

  • Ensures assigned fleet, personnel uniforms, grooming, facility cleanliness, and job sites meet professional image standards.
  • Conducts and administers professional standards training for all subordinates.
  • Ensures personnel observe safety standards during working hours, at job sites, in public places, in transit, and at branch facilities.

Physical Demands

  • Frequent standing, walking, and sitting.
  • Occasional lifting up to 60 pounds.
  • Uses close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Exposure to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and outside weather conditions.
  • Long working hours required for emergency, urgent response, or winter weather storm management operations.

Work Environment

  • Exposure to noise levels in the work environment is usually moderate.
  • Exposure to outside weather conditions.

Travel & Development

  • May be required to travel to other offices of ECF for training and purposes of delivering projects.

Security

  • Must pass security background checks.
  • Required to have and hold a valid driver’s license free of traffic violations and accidents.
