Position Summary
The Distribution Manager is responsible for overseeing all warehouse, inventory, shipping, receiving, and transportation activities within our food distribution facility. This role ensures the safe, efficient, and cost-effective movement of products while maintaining compliance with food safety regulations and company standards.
Responsibilities
- Manage daily warehouse and distribution operations, including receiving, storage, order selection, shipping, and transportation.
- Lead, coach, and develop warehouse supervisors, drivers, and warehouse associates.
- Ensure compliance with all food safety, OSHA, DOT, HACCP, and company policies.
- Monitor inventory accuracy and implement processes to minimize shrink and product loss.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on productivity, efficiency, safety, and customer service.
- Develop and manage labor schedules to meet operational demands while controlling costs.
- Collaborate with Purchasing, Sales, Transportation, and Customer Service teams to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment.
- Analyze operational metrics and prepare reports on productivity, inventory, safety, and service performance.
- Oversee equipment maintenance and facility operations to ensure a safe working environment.
- Manage budgets, labor costs, and operational expenses.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- 5+ years of warehouse or distribution management experience, preferably in wholesale food distribution or foodservice.
- Strong knowledge of inventory management systems, warehouse management systems (WMS), and transportation operations.
- Experience managing large teams in a fast-paced distribution environment.
- Knowledge of FDA, HACCP, OSHA, and food safety regulations.
- Proven leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong analytical abilities and proficiency with Microsoft Office and warehouse management software.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with refrigerated, frozen, and dry goods distribution.
- Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement experience.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
Pay
$90,000.00 – $100,000.00 USD annually
