Position Summary

If you've built your career solving operational problems within manufacturing or supply chain and are looking for broader exposure, TriVista offers the opportunity to apply that experience across different companies, industries, and operational challenges. Our Operations Improvement Consultants work primarily with private equity firms and their portfolio companies to identify what's limiting performance and help management teams make meaningful, measurable improvements. The work is hands-on and can span the full value chain, from the plant floor to planning and supply chain to broader business performance. We're open to candidates coming directly from industry as well as those with prior consulting experience.

What You'll Work On

No two engagements look exactly the same! Depending on the client and project, you may work on:

  • Manufacturing and plant performance improvement
  • Continuous improvement and Lean initiatives
  • Sales, Inventory & Operations Planning (SIOP)
  • Demand, supply, production, and inventory planning
  • Sourcing and procurement
  • Distribution and transportation
  • Network and capacity optimization
  • Product rationalization and profitability improvement
  • Operational and financial performance improvement
  • Pre-sale operational due diligence
  • Post-merger integration

You'll work directly with client teams to understand how their operations are performing, analyze data, identify root causes and opportunities, develop practical recommendations, and help translate those recommendations into action.

What You'll Do

  • Support consulting engagements for private equity firms and portfolio companies across a variety of industries
  • Work directly with operators, functional leaders, executives, and PE stakeholders to understand operational challenges
  • Analyze operational and financial data to identify performance gaps and improvement opportunities
  • Evaluate processes on the plant floor and across the broader supply chain
  • Develop practical recommendations grounded in data and operational realities
  • Build clear, executive-ready analyses, presentations, and client deliverables
  • Support implementation of operational improvement initiatives
  • Contribute to internal research, tools, training materials, and business development efforts

Who We're Looking For

We're particularly interested in people who have built hands-on experience in manufacturing, operations, supply chain, planning, or continuous improvement and enjoy solving problems that don't always have an obvious answer. You may currently work in continuous improvement, operational excellence, manufacturing/industrial engineering, operations, supply chain, production planning, materials planning, S&OP/SIOP, or a related field. Successful candidates will typically bring:

  • 4+ years of relevant manufacturing, operations, supply chain, planning, or process improvement experience; 5–8 years preferred
  • Hands-on experience working within or closely alongside manufacturing environments
  • Experience identifying operational problems, analyzing root causes, and implementing improvements
  • Strong analytical skills and comfort working with operational and financial data
  • The ability to communicate effectively with everyone from plant-floor teams to senior executives
  • Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Business and financial acumen, including an understanding of how labor, materials, inventory, and operating performance affect profitability
  • Curiosity, initiative, adaptability, and comfort working through ambiguity
  • A practical, hands-on approach to problem solving
  • Experience with Lean/Six Sigma, SIOP/S&OP, production planning, supply chain optimization, Power BI/Tableau, or similar analytical tools is helpful but not required across every area

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, operations management, supply chain, business, or a related field, and/or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
  • MBA is a plus
  • Lean and/or Six Sigma certification is preferred, or willingness to obtain certification after joining
