About the Role

The Field Service Engineer will have field-based responsibilities, including site visits, surveys, inspections, and maintenance activities. The position requires travel and the ability to safely navigate and work in a variety of field and job site conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct cathodic protection (CP) surveys and perform remedial actions as needed.
  • Perform leakage surveys and leak investigations using standard industry equipment.
  • Conduct odorization testing and prepare required reports.
  • Perform pipeline patrols.
  • Inspect natural gas mains and services.
  • Conduct emergency valve inspections and maintenance.
  • Install, test, and maintain regulators and relief valves.
  • Maintain required Operator Qualification (OQ) certifications.
  • Review, update, and implement plans and operating manuals.
  • Maintain compliance records and required documentation.
  • Communicate and coordinate regularly with clients.
  • Review and comply with applicable state and federal pipeline safety regulations.
  • Serve as a technical resource and provide support to field technicians.
  • Perform field activities safely and efficiently in varying weather and site conditions.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to work independently and demonstrate self-motivation.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision or assistance.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability and willingness to perform hands-on field work in all types of weather conditions.
  • Ability to successfully complete initial and ongoing federally required Operator Qualification evaluations.
  • Ability to effectively operate various equipment required for field operations.
  • Willingness to travel, including overnight stays.
  • Ability to maintain positive and professional working relationships with coworkers, management, clients, and the public.
  • Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment through adherence to established safety procedures and timely reporting of potential hazards.
  • Valid driver's license and good driving record.
  • Ability to successfully complete required background, driving, employment history, and drug/alcohol screenings.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the natural gas industry.
  • Experience using GPS and/or GIS systems and software.
