Operations & Engineering Lead
Mantel is developing a novel carbon capture technology for industrial applications. The Operations & Engineering Lead will be based at Kruger's Wayagamack mill in Trois-Rivières, Quebec, where they will be responsible for maintaining the demonstration unit's operational health.
Responsibilities
Own the day-to-day operational health of Mantel's demonstration unit at Wayagamack — diagnose and resolve problems, and ensure the system runs safely and consistently.
Monitor system performance in real time and respond quickly to issues.
Coordinate with Kruger's site team and operations personnel to maintain a safe, professional, and collaborative on-site environment.
Diagnose and resolve mechanical, process, instrumentation, and operational issues in the field.
Support ongoing commissioning activities, system optimization, and documentation.
Requirements
8+ years of hands-on experience in industrial plant operations, commissioning, or field engineering.
Experience in process, power, pulp and paper, or a related heavy industrial environment.
Self-directed and reliable, with the ability to work independently and autonomously.
Low-ego and safety-first approach to problem-solving.
Qualifications
B.Eng., B.S., technical diploma, or trade certification in a relevant discipline.
Demonstrated field competency matters more than credentials.
