Operations Engineering Intern - Summer 2027
About the Role
The Bunge Engineering Internship Program is looking for collaborative, results-oriented candidates with strong critical thinking and communication skills. This internship is designed to give you an understanding of the operations and processes of businesses across Bunge's value chain. You will receive cross-functional exposure to various business units while performing operational functions including EHS, Material Handling, Crush, Refine, Packaging, Lab, Warehouse, and Process Engineering. You will develop the skills and knowledge needed to provide a solid foundation in all aspects of operational processes.
Location will be determined based on current business needs; you would be placed at one of our crush/refine, packaging, or grain elevator facilities. Ability and willingness to relocate for the duration of the internship is required.
Position Details
- Summer Work Term: Approximately 12 weeks
- Potential Co-op Opportunities: Select locations, including Bellevue, OH and Decatur, IN, may offer 14 to 16-week co-op assignments based on business needs and availability. Candidates must be actively enrolled in a college or university co-op program to be considered for these opportunities.
- Hourly Pay Rate Starting at: $27.30
What You'll Be Doing
- Participate fully in the day-to-day operation of a Bunge facility, following the program governance of 70/20/10 (70% hands-on, 20% informal learning, 10% formal learning)
- Develop a thorough understanding of plant operations
- Demonstrate your level of understanding by responding to verbal or written inquiries from supervisors, mentors, or program manager
- Travel to other Bunge locations for training and exposure purposes
- Assist location and corporate staff in evaluating changing operational conditions
- Communicate effectively with Bunge internal and external customers
Qualifications
- Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Engineering from a four-year accredited college or university, in Chemical, Mechanical, Agricultural, Electrical, or Instrumentation & Controls
- Must be collaborative, results-oriented, and possess strong critical thinking skills
- Ability to adjust to multiple demands, shifting priorities, ambiguity, adversity, and constant change
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Analytical problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in standard PC applications
- Standard internship hours 8 AM – 5 PM, subject to modification as required by assignment and/or location
- Ability to travel
