About the role
Global Engineering Services (GES) North America (NA) Operations Engineering (Ops Eng) is searching for an innovative and solutions-oriented Operations Engineers to root cause, solve, and scale systemic engineering challenges in First and Middle Mile Operations. In this role, you will collaborate with internal and external teams to develop, monitor and innovate cost-effective solutions for our sortation and distribution systems. Your projects vary across building type and Line of Business, adding a vital contribution to the end to end Ops engineering lifecycle. You will work with a team of highly skilled and highly engaged engineers in a fast-paced and often ambiguous environment. Our team works on hundreds of projects each year. Key job responsibilities
- Coordinate efforts to develop optimal solutions and processes for the sortation and transportation network through process design, site layout, and intellectual property considerations.
- Collaboration with internal teams and external vendors to generate high-quality, cost-effective solutions in very short periods of time.
- Simultaneously manage multiple projects and tasks while effectively influencing, negotiating, and communicating with internal and external business partners, contractors and vendors.
- Effective communication skills, ability to execute the vision, detailed roadmap, and specific technical solutions.
- Travel Requirements: 50 - 70%
Basic Qualifications
- 4+ years of industrial engineer, operations engineer, manufacturing engineer, or project engineer in a manufacturing environment experience
- Knowledge of AutoCAD, VBA, and SQL at the intermediate level
- Experience working with and managing third party vendors
- Experience with Six Sigma, lean manufacturing
- Experience developing and implementing of standards, policies and programs or equivalent
- Experience with complex automated material handling equipment, packaging technologies, and systems and high-speed manufacturing
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree or above in engineering or equivalent STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) field
- Experience working with material handling equipment (MHE) safety standards in accordance with OEM requirements
- Experience working with customers, technical teams, and management to collect requirements, describe software product features, and technical designs
- Experience in capital project management involving ownership/management of engineering design projects
- Experience with design-in-safety
- Experience working directly with engineering teams

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location. Schedule & location
This role requires 50 - 70% regional travel and availability to work from a corporate office when not traveling.
