About the role
Verition Fund Management is a global multi-strategy hedge fund with expertise across equity, fixed income, and derivatives markets. Our US offices sit at the center of our operations, supporting a broad range of investment strategies across global markets.
Key responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day operational processes for equity/credit trading activity, including trade capture and affirmation across multiple markets and custodians.
- Apply working knowledge of corporate actions processing (dividends, splits, mergers, rights issues) and help ensure timely, accurate reflection in internal systems.
- Perform cash and position reconciliations between internal books/records and prime brokers; investigate and resolve breaks.
- Cook up with trading desks and portfolio managers on trade-related matters, including settlement fails, discrepancies, and pricing issues.
- Aid in maintaining and improving trade flow processes, commission schedules, and related operational documentation.
- Support private deal processing and DWAC/DRS flow.
- Apply basic knowledge of P&L calculations to support ad hoc PM inquiries.
- Support onboarding of new brokers, custodians, and counterparties from an operational readiness standpoint.
Experience & requirements
- 3+ years of experience in investment management or fund operations required.
- Experience at a hedge fund, asset manager, or prime brokerage preferred.
- Working knowledge of custodian and prime brokerage relationships.
- Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP; macros a plus).
- Experience with order management/portfolio management systems (e.g., Bloomberg AIM, FLEX a plus).
- Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy under deadline pressure.
- Excellent communication skills for cross-team and external counterparty coordination.
- Knowledge of private deals and DWAC/DRS transfer flow a plus.
- Exposure to derivatives, fixed income, or multi-asset operations in addition to equities a plus.
