Responsibilities
- Aid in establishing high standards of operational excellence across the school building.
- Contribute to the creation of operational systems and structures that facilitate the smooth functioning of the school.
- Support the student registration process, including handling paperwork and making calls.
- Assist in all recruitment efforts.
- Answer phones, take messages, place calls, and send mass communications.
- Initiate and track office supply orders, maintaining accurate records of orders and inventory.
- Create, distribute, and organize daily student bus check-ins and out, metro card management, and bussing.
- Coordinate and manage data analysis and reporting.
- Coordinate and manage all student transportation.
- Coordinate and manage events as directed by school leadership and/or network operations team.
- Help develop a warm, nurturing, and professional school culture.
- Maintain school systems and files: ATS, PowerSchool, Schoolmint, Parent Square, Scholarchip, and OPT.
- Coordinate Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) coverages and lunch coverages.
- Maintain compliance for immunizations.
- Perform additional duties as designated by the operations team.
Qualifications
- A “whatever it takes” attitude, centered in the notion of “children first.”
- Bachelor's degree, preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- High degree of organizational skills; detail-oriented with the ability to follow through in a fast-paced environment.
- Thorough understanding of best practices within school-based operations.
- Understanding of school student-achievement data and New York Charter School Standards.
- Ability to use tech platforms such as Kickboard, PowerSchool, and Google Drive to track data and communicate effectively with the school community.
- A deep belief that every child can succeed, and a willingness to uphold high expectations for students, staff, and oneself to ensure student success.
- Able to model social-emotional skills such as willingness to take feedback, hear new perspectives, and try new things in support of student growth.
- A willingness to engage in professional learning and development around issues of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- A leadership mindset focused on creating a thriving, joyful school community rooted in ICS Core Values, and modeling these values for others.
