About the role

Production Operation Technology Engineer manages, edits, and keeps updated and secure OT hardware, software, and databases in the production plant. Central contact person for all Production OT topics at production locations within Presta North America, supporting the primary production assembly plant and, as needed, off-site locations such as R&D facilities for testing and lab machines.

Responsibilities

  • Support and troubleshoot all Production IT-related situations
  • Support the configuration of industrial systems
  • Configuration, maintenance, and technical support of Beckhoff PLCs
  • Installation and maintenance of Keyence and Cognex industrial vision systems
  • Configuration of Zebra and Intermec printers on production lines
  • Support in planning, installation, and updating plant ESD controls and standards
  • Management of industrial interfaces and equipment in the production environment
  • Implementation and maintenance of HMIs (Z-point and Brosis) software communications
  • Administration of STIWA specialized software for monitoring and analyzing manufacturing processes
  • Support for measurement systems such as Zeiss Calypso and Contura
  • Management of Technological Infrastructure for Production Systems
  • Administration of databases (Oracle, MySQL, SQL Server), including queries, insertions, replications, and backups
  • Deployment of operating systems on production equipment using SCCM
  • Administration of Trellix security console (formerly McAfee ePO Agent) to ensure system protection
  • Management of web servers (XAMPP, IIS, Apache Tomcat) and secure communications (HTTP, HTTPS)
  • Advanced knowledge and management of network topologies, local network configurations, and communication between industrial devices
  • Implementation and support of CCTV video systems on production lines to ensure operational security
  • Supports Production OT topics for production assembly machines, lab machines, and test and development machines
  • Troubleshooting and resolving hardware and software issues during production processes
  • Development and maintenance of scripts and applications using languages such as PowerShell, Java, PHP, JSON, and JavaScript
  • Backup implementation using tools such as Acronis and Snapshot to ensure the availability of critical information
  • Maintain Goals and Objectives on a fiscal year basis
  • Define and maintain ME Role Specific and Personal Development goals each year
  • Work closely with other departments within the production plant
  • Maintain contact with the Global ME team to ensure our production plant maintains global standards and aligns with global strategy and initiatives
  • Provide clear and precise technical documentation

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience: Bachelor's degree from a four-year College or University in Electrical Engineering, or at least four years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience working in industrial environments. Experience with automated assembly processes for automotive components. Experience in Team Oriented Problem Solving.

Computer and Technology Skills:

  • Software Proficiency: MS Office applications, and SPC software. Web design experience an added plus
  • Experience with cybersecurity antivirus software, specifically Trellix, and McAfee ePO Agent console
  • Experience in programming (VB, C/C++, Java, Java Script, Powershell, Json, PHP, C#, Python, HTML or other programming language)
  • Experience with HMI interface software installation, setup, and operations, specifically STIWA and Brosis packages

Technical Skills:

  • Experience managing web servers, such as XAMPP, IIS, and Apache Tomcat
  • Experience with PLC / IPC systems, specifically Beckhoff
  • Experience working with Databases, specifically Oracle, MySQL Server, Microsoft SQL Server
  • Experience with communication protocols, specifically Telnet, FTP, SMTP, HTTP, and HTTPS

Hardware Knowledge: Experience working with Elektrobit (EBIT) boxes with both LIN and CAN connections

Systems and Platforms:

  • Experience with interfacing multiple electronic systems using various communication protocols
  • Experience in deployment of operating systems within the manufacturing production environment
  • Experience with Acoustic Measurement Systems such as Anovis
  • Experience managing network infrastructure, specifically Production-LAN and Office-LAN networks
  • Experience with management of Active Directory, specifically for policies, groups, and object rights permissions
  • Experience with application servers, specifically graphs, dashboard, and charts (AMS related products, such as Analysis CI)
  • Experience with production vision systems, their installation, setup, and operation, specifically Keyence, Cognex, and CCTV systems such as GW
