Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a primary point of contact for first line risk and control matters across the private credit business, working closely with investment and operational teams
- Oversee and enhance the risk and control framework, including ownership of RCSAs, control inventories, and ongoing monitoring activities
- Support pre- and post-trade investment processes, ensuring adherence to internal guidelines, mandates, and applicable risk policies
- Lead targeted risk assessments and control reviews, identifying gaps and partnering with the business to implement practical, scalable solutions
- Evaluate risks associated with new products, transactions, and strategic initiatives, ensuring appropriate controls are designed and embedded from inception
- Manage and investigate operational risk events and control breaches, conducting root cause analysis and driving remediation efforts
- Contribute to ongoing risk reporting and governance, including preparation of materials for senior stakeholders and risk committees
- Partner with second line risk functions to ensure alignment with the broader enterprise risk framework while maintaining ownership within the first line
Candidate Profile
- 4-8 years of experience in first line operational risk, business risk, or controls within financial services
- Demonstrated experience working in credit, lending, fixed income, or private markets businesses, ideally within an asset manager or investment platform
- Strong working knowledge of RCSA frameworks, control testing, issues management, and operational incident handling
- Familiarity with private credit, direct lending, CLOs, or leveraged finance is highly preferred
- Prioritizes risk management while balancing commercial objectives with strong analytical skills to assess complex processes and translate risks into actionable solutions
- Excellent communication skills, with confidence interacting with stakeholders across levels and functions
