Responsibilities
- Support inventory valuation accuracy and reconciliation across facilities and 3PL warehouse partners.
- Maintain and strengthen internal controls over inventory operations, including cycle count governance, scheduling, and exception resolution.
- Analyze internal control exceptions to identify root cause, quantify impact, and support timely remediation.
- Monitor and reconcile cold storage activity — receiving, inventory adjustments, and credits — across 3PL partners.
- Support insurance reporting obligations related to inventory, including coordinating data and documentation for claims and coverage reviews.
- Perform Lower of Cost or Market (LCM) analysis to support accurate inventory valuation and financial reporting.
- Support setup and testing EDI transaction sets (e.g., 856 ASN, 940, 944, 945) in coordination with IT and 3PL partners.
- Analyze inventory trends and variances to identify risk, shrink, or process gaps.
- Prepare KPI reporting on inventory accuracy, cycle count performance, and 3PL transaction activity.
- Partner with 3PL/warehouse partners, IT, Finance, and 3rd party reconciliation platform representative to resolve discrepancies and improve reconciliation processes.
- Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in compliance with company policies.
- Provide project support across Operational Finance initiatives as assigned, including EDI conversions, system enhancements, and process improvement projects.
- Present findings and recommendations on inventory accuracy and control performance to senior management.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in inventory accounting, operations finance, or a related field.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data interpretation skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, financial modeling, and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite).
- Experience with EDI transaction sets and/or warehouse management systems (3PL/WMS) is a strong plus.
- Experience with cycle count processes and inventory control principles preferred.
- Familiarity with Lower of Cost or Market (LCM) analysis and inventory-related insurance reporting is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex financial and operational data clearly.
- Experience in the food distribution, cold storage, or supply chain industry is a plus.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
