About the role
We currently have an opportunity for an Associate Manager within our Operational Due Diligence (ODD) Team in Chicago, IL or Charlotte, NC. You will work closely with other Associates and Consultants and will assist with the timely delivery of ODD reports and projects. Please note that this role may include some future travel within the U.S. Support and training will be provided.
Responsibilities
- Conducting initial and ongoing operational due diligence reviews of asset managers, across a variety of asset classes, including; hedge funds, long-only, private equity and real-estate
- Producing high quality ODD reports, which include clear, concise opinions
- Researching the middle and back office functions of various investment managers
- Reviewing selected fund managers’ trading systems and pricing procedures
- Reviewing fund documentation including audited financial reports, internal controls reports, fund legal documents
- Collating and assimilating data to help respond to consultant and client queries
Performance Objectives
- Clients: Complete ODD reports in a timely manner, including submission and presentation to the Voting Committee members; Assist on advisory client projects to meet or exceed client expectations; Work with client consulting teams on client queries and any special consulting projects
- Financial: Support the generation of new business as part of the broader team
- Excellence: Interview and evaluate investment managers for operational risk; Support senior team members in the provision of first-class advice; Directly contribute to clients’ success through applying your technical expertise; Contribute to the development of new tools and approaches
- People: Build relationships internally and collaborate effectively with other internal teams; Demonstrate natural ease and effectiveness when dealing with clients/colleagues at all levels
Qualifications
- 0-4 years of ODD experience
- Undergraduate degree, or equivalent qualification
- Financial services experience; ODD experience advantageous
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to formulate and support a documented thesis and form opinions
- Understanding of operational processes and risks
- Well organized and detail oriented; ability to execute with accuracy
- Team player, comfortable in a professional services environment
- Experience successfully managing multiple projects, producing quality deliverables on time and within budget
