Operating Room Technician

About the role

The Surgical Technologist Certified supports the healthcare team under the supervision of a registered nurse, assisting in providing safe, age-appropriate, and culturally sensitive patient care during surgical procedures.

Responsibilities

• Preparing the operative suite and surgical field to maintain a sterile environment and ensure patient safety.
• Gathering instruments and supplies, troubleshooting equipment, and anticipating additional needs for procedures.
• Assisting as a surgical team member and mentoring or training others as needed.
• Participating in performance improvement initiatives and maintaining compliance with standards.
• Supporting inventory management, stocking ORs, and ensuring adherence to safety and regulatory standards.
• Assisting with late coverage or call shifts and performing duties related to patient safety and operative efficiency.

Qualifications

• One year of surgical technology experience.
• Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST, TS-C, CSFA, CSA, or similar).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Skills

• Ability to work independently.
• Troubleshoot equipment.
• Communicate effectively with the healthcare team.
