Operating Room Support Specialist

As pioneers of the VNS (Vagus Nerve Stimulation) Therapy® system, LivaNova continues to advance medical device solutions for patients affected by Drug-Resistant Epilepsy (DRE) and Difficult-to-Treat Depression (DTD). Our Operating Room Support Specialists help make a positive impact on the lives of patients living with epilepsy by collaborating with neurosurgeons, epileptologists, and nurses to support case coverage for our VNS Therapy System, which is FDA-approved for the treatment of refractory epilepsy.

This field-based position requires visiting hospital facilities regularly and complying with hospital credentialing and access requirements, including necessary immunizations for healthcare employment. Travel is limited but may occasionally require an overnight stay.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a highly trained subject matter expert for surgical case coverage in the OR during implantation of the Vagus Nerve Stimulator (VNS) Therapy System.
• Support Operating Room staff in product-related matters intraoperative, including VNS diagnostics, troubleshooting, and programming assistance.
• Understand the implantation, operating room, and credentialing process.
• Be available to work with short notice (1-2 days per week, no more than 29 hours weekly).
• Maintain compliance with hospital credentialing and immunization requirements.

Requirements

• BS/BA degree or clinical technical/operating room environment experience.
• Ability to project a positive image and maintain professionalism in the OR.
• Computer literacy with proficiency in MS Office software.
• Exceptional written, verbal, and nonverbal communication skills.
• Reside within the assigned territory.
• Willingness to complete required immunizations for healthcare employment.

Prior knowledge of the VNS Therapy System is not required; training will be provided at our Houston corporate office.

Pay

A reasonable estimate of the hourly rate for this position is $60 per hour. Pay ranges may vary by location.

Schedule

This is a part-time opportunity, working no more than 29 hours per week.
