Operating Room RN

Responsibilities

• Provide expert perioperative care in a high-acuity, team-based surgical environment.
• Assess and prepare patients for surgery, and monitor patient status throughout procedures.
• Circulate and scrub for a variety of surgical procedures, ensuring a sterile and safe environment.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient care.
• Document care activities accurately in the EMR.
• Support patient and family education regarding perioperative processes.
• Mentor and support less experienced staff members.
• Participate in quality improvement, safety, and process enhancement initiatives.

Qualifications & Skills

• Proven experience as an Operating Room RN or similar perioperative role.
• Strong knowledge of sterile techniques, surgical procedures, and patient safety protocols.
• Excellent collaboration, communication, and documentation skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment.
• Commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement in patient care.
