Job Summary
Responsible to coordinate and supervise the daily activities of the surgical area.
Essential Functions
- Direct the daily operations of the department including staff scheduling, ensuring the delivery of optimal patient care.
- Develop new methods to improve existing systems or operations.
- Assess developmental needs of staff and develop continuing education and quality assurance programs to optimize patient care.
- Research supplies, instruments and equipment and recommend purchases to the Director.
- Aid in the selection, training and evaluation of subordinates and initiate personnel actions in accordance with Human Resources policies and organization philosophy.
- Maintain the necessary level of professional knowledge and technical proficiency in areas of functional responsibility.
- Complete required continuous training and education, including department-specific requirements.
- Comply with established personal protective equipment requirements necessary for protection against exposure to blood and other potentially infectious body fluids, chemical disinfectants, radiation, asbestos, and other hazardous substances.
- Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served within the unit.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities/Expectations
- Must read, write and speak fluent English
- Basic computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft Office, word-processing and spreadsheet software.
- Must have good and regular attendance.

Qualifications
- Education: Associate in Nursing degree. Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Licenses/Certifications: Valid state license as Registered Nurse. ANOR certification preferred. BLS certification required.
- Experience: Three years of operating room experience as a Registered Nurse preferred.
Pay Range
$100K-$127K
