Operating Room Nurse

About the role

The Registered Nurse Circulator at Palm Beach Surgical Suites provides nursing care and service during surgery cases. The Circulating RN will position the patient, prep the patient, and circulate the case.

Responsibilities

• Provides care within nursing standards of practice and the policies of the Center.
• Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates care for all ages patients in the operating room.
• Makes decisions regarding direct patient care needs and communicates appropriate information to physicians, patients, family members, and personnel in other departments as well as team members.
• Serves on committees, participates in quality improvement audits and projects.
• Ensures all patient paperwork is completed, such as consent forms.
• Documents what takes place during the procedure.
• Affirms that safety procedures are being met.
• Replenishes surgical supplies as needed during the procedure.
• Verifies instrument count and completes charting and other related duties after the procedure.
• Ensures detailed orientation skills are maintained.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing.
• Active RN license in the state.
• BLS, ACLS, or PALS as required by the center.
• A minimum of 1 year experience working as a Circulator.
• Ability to make decisions based on nursing judgment.
