Operating Room Associate

About the role

A non-licensed assistive member of the operating room who assists the board runner, staff nurses, and surgical technologists in the day-to-day operations of the unit.

Responsibilities

• Help with transfer and positioning of the surgical patient.
• Use the surgeon preference card to charge and credit supplies for a surgical procedure.
• Perform routine tasks not limited to only the licensed personnel.
• Familiarity with the OR environment, fast pace, and efficient turnover of the operating rooms.
• Strong team approach to keeping cases moving throughout the day and communicating changes to the charge nurse.
• Ability to use the addressograph, charts, phones, patient call system, computer systems, fax machines, etc.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Maintain BCLS certification for continued employment.
• 6 months experience working in an OR environment or education and/or equivalent experience as an anesthesia tech, nursing assistant, or sterile processing technician where required knowledge has been acquired.

Schedule

• Full time.
• 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM.
• 40 hours per week.
