About the role
Full-time Operating Room Assistant II responsible for managing and distributing disposable supplies to support Operating Rooms and ancillary locations.
Responsibilities
- Fills Case bins/carts with product delivered
- Places orders using RFID system and Workday handheld
- Verifies stock levels using RFID system and clean rooms audits
- Confirms stocking levels of feeding tube supplies for upcoming cases
- Uses applicable reports to evaluate causes of material discrepancies
- Responds to all emails and Voceras sent by Clinical Staff in assigned department
- Restocks and rotates stock and non-stock supplies, checking for damaged and expired products
- Notifies inventory clerk or coordinator of supply shortages or usage increases
- Inventories and replenishes assigned stock and non-stock par locations in IR Lab, Soft goods, O.R., and ancillary locations
- Answers incoming phone calls courteously and assists O.R. staff
- Performs assigned work safely, adhering to departmental safety rules; reports unsafe activity or hazards promptly
- Visually checks products to verify catalog numbers, expiration dates, sterility, and description
Requirements
- High School Diploma
- Minimum three years of relevant work experience in Materials Management and/or Supply Chain (equivalent clinical experience considered)
Skills
- Ability to serve customers and maintain high satisfaction
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products, including Excel
- Strong oral and written communication skills (emails, Vocera)
- Basic numerical calculation ability
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Effective communication under varying stress levels
- Ability to operate all equipment and software used in Surgical Materials
Working Conditions
- Fast-paced, active, and customer-oriented environment
- Possible exposure to radiation, anesthesia agents, and other hazardous gases and chemicals
Physical Demands
- Standing for long periods
- Lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, bending, and walking
- Frequent lifting up to 35 lbs.
- Ability to push a cart with up to 250 lbs. of stock to the O.R. area
- Visual inspection of small packages and verification of small text (e.g., expiration information on translucent materials)
Pay
Starting rate: $18.75 per hour. After six months of continuous employment, the rate increases to $21.87 per hour. After one year, the rate increases to $22.91 per hour.
Schedule
Day Shift, Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
