What this job involves
Develop your facilities career at JLL! As a Facilities Technician, you will support continuous operation, inspection, and maintenance of building systems and infrastructure at our multi-campus site in Franklin, MA. You will work as part of a technical facilities team, reporting to the Chief Engineer who ensures efficient execution of planned maintenance and work requests. This role focuses on maintaining critical building infrastructure through proactive maintenance and responsive service.
What your day-to-day will look like
- Perform general facilities maintenance including carpentry repairs, HVAC system maintenance, plumbing repairs, painting, pressure washing, and lighting system upkeep.
- Maintain work order system (CMMS) daily and complete tenant service requests efficiently to support continuous building operations.
- Execute assigned preventive maintenance and inspection tasks with focus on critical systems and high-priority planned maintenance.
- Support emergency response situations, working collaboratively with the Facilities Manager and Chief Engineer to resolve issues rapidly.
- Troubleshoot building systems including carpentry structures, HVAC components, and plumbing fixtures, escalating complex technical issues appropriately.
- Move office furniture, machinery, equipment, and other materials as requested.
- Comply with all safety procedures and maintain awareness of critical system status.
- Participate in ongoing technical, safety, and operational process training programs focused on building infrastructure.
- Cookordination with team members to ensure timely completion of maintenance activities and work orders.
Required Qualifications
- Well-rounded facilities background with demonstrated hands-on experience across multiple building trades (carpentry, HVAC, plumbing)
- Minimum 3+ years of related work experience in facilities maintenance, repair work, or building trades
- Experience using Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, Teams)
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Comfort using ladders up to 30 feet tall
- Ability to frequently climb, bend, kneel, lift, and/or drive
- Must be available to work on-site
Preferred Qualifications
- Trade school education, union training, military service, or college degree
- Relevant trade certifications (Universal CFC EPA, carpentry, plumbing) or willingness to achieve within first year (with JLL assistance)
- Strong communication skills and ability to work independently
- Proven ability to work independently and report effectively through chain of command
- Customer service skills and effective communication with management and team members
